Is Your Child Ready for Kindy?

Children attend kindergarten in the year before they start Prep (Year 1). The Queensland Government recommends that children attend Kindy in the year they turn four by June 30. This is known as the eligible or target age.

At Ayr Community Kindergarten, we offer a high-quality program with 15 hours of Kindy per week for both our groups, the Adventurers and the Explorers.

Mondays and Wednesdays

8.30am until 4pm

GROUP 2

Explorers

Tuesdays and Thursdays

8.30am until 4pm

When Will My Child Attend Kindy?

Use this table to quickly find the correct year for your child to attend Kindy based on their date of birth:

Kindergarten Fees

We are delighted to offer Free Kindy for eligible-age children.

Kindy is free for children who turn four by June 30 in the year they attend. This covers the full 15 hours per week for 40 weeks of the year (up to a maximum of 600 hours).

Non-Eligible Fees: If your child attends Kindy in a second year as a three-year-old, a separate fee (known as the non-eligible fee) may apply. These fees vary between services. Please contact us directly for current rates if this applies to your family.
